The Munin Barkotoki Memorial Trust was formed in 1994 to continue to support the causes dear to Munin Barkotoki, and therefore to promote the cause of literature in Assamese, in all genres and, in original as well as in translation. Some of the main activities of the Trust in the last years are as follows:
(a) An annual award called the Munin Barkotoki Literary Award (called Munin Barkataki Award till 2014) is given away by the Trust to deserving young writers in Assamese. For more details, see the Award section.
(b) The Trust has also taken up the task of collecting, compiling and arranging for publication all the writings of Munin Barkotoki. It has also published a few books about Munin Barkotoki and his family. For more details, go to the Publications section.

(d) Besides a library and reading room located in the Trust office premises, the Trust has also created a small space called 'Sabhaghar' suitable for holding meetings and discussions in the second floor of the Trust premises at Panchabati. The founding Managing Trustee was Munin Barkotoki's wife Renuka Devi Barkataki. After her death in August 2017, their daughter Meenaxi Barkataki-Ruscheweyh took over as the Managing Trustee. Sri Upendra Barkotoki, Professor Jyotiprakash Tamuli and Professor Bibhash Chowdhury are Trustees.
